Continued Scholarship Eligibility

Continued scholarship in the next academic year is claimed by those scholarship holders who have been receiving the payments or had their scholarship right dormant in the current academic year and who will:

  • enrol in the next year of the same programme; or
  • continue studies in a different programme within the same level of education after receiving a previous consent for the change of programme from the Fund.

Scholarship holders, who were awarded the scholarship before the 2014/2015 academic year, are subject to the previous regulations, whereas those who were awarded the scholarship in 2014/2015 or after are subject to the provisions of the ZŠtip-1.

Continued scholarship eligibility – scholarship holders who obtained the right before the 2014/2015 academic year

The scholarship relationship of scholarship holders, who gained the right to scholarship prior to the 2014/2015 academic year, is regulated by the previous Scholarship Act (ZŠtip) and the General Terms and Conditions of the Slovenian Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund applicable upon the publication of the call for applications, under which the scholarship was awarded.

Every year scholarship holders must submit an application to the call for applications and enrol in the next year of the same academic program. If they wish to change the academic program, they must previously obtain the Fund’s approval.

Scholarship holders are entitled to a monthly scholarship of EUR 150 and the basic scholarship may be increased by extras specified by call for applications.

If a scholarship holder does not complete the year for which he/she was receiving the scholarship or fails to demonstrate that he/she meets the conditions for enrolling in the next year of the academic programme, the right to the scholarship can be dormant for a maximum of one academic year. If after that year the student demonstrates a successful completion of the academic year or enrolment into the next academic year, the student can be again eligible for scholarship; otherwise the right to the scholarship is evoked and the student must repay the scholarship for the year he/she didn’t complete successfully.

Continued scholarship eligibility – scholarship holders who obtained the right after 2014/2015

The scholarship relationship of scholarship holders, that gained the right to scholarship in the 2014/2015 academic year or later, is regulated by the provisions of the Scholarship Act (ZŠtip-1).

Scholarship holders must submit in the application for renewal of scholarship for the next academic year no later than on the last day of the current academic year, that is by 30 September and enrol in the next year of the same academic program. If they wish to change the academic program, they must previously obtain the Fund’s approval.

The scholarship amounts to EUR 204,80 per month.

Students, who are not citizens of an EU member state, an EEA country or Switzerland, can also be awarded the monthly fee for health insurance if they hold compulsory health insurance since the beginning of the academic year.
