Strategies and goals

Through management and partially also development of policies The Fund contributes to the development of human resources, with a special emphasis placed on development of human resources for the economy.

Basic goals and directions of the Fund are:

• increase knowledge and skills of individuals to raise competitiveness of the economy;
• improve employment possibilities of individuals;
• form an efficient system of regional incentives for the population in the region;
• strengthen cooperation with the economy (increase knowledge flow between educational and research institutions and  businesses, enable networking between secondary school and higher education level students with relevant businesses,  etc.);
• promote knowledge, science and promising career paths;
• increase sources for the development of human resources other than the state budget (European Social Fund, incentives  from the business sector, etc.);
• facilitate arrival of foreign researchers and top scientists to Slovenia.
